It is a beautiful year with hopes and aspirations from everyone around the globe. Seating up to ensure that the new decade births great things. While we are at it, it is also necessary that goals should be set for every sphere of the country and that also includes plans for women and girls in this year 2020 and beyond.
To this end, today, Founder of Emerge Women and Moms Africa hosted by Joy Jaiyesimi speaks at Visionfm92.1, Abuja about gender inequality and it’s sub roots as well as it’s effect on Nigeria’s economy. How sidelining the female gender has affected the revenue of the country. Not only that, sex offenders register will help to curb sexual violence was discussed. The unacceptable theme of violence against women in politics and violence in any form and in every sphere was also a hot topic that light was shed on. Furthermore, she made reference to the Women’s Charter of Demands made at the National Women Summit (Womanifesto) that was held in November, 2019 and how the book contains all of our demands as women and mothers. Demands were made on Women and Security, Women and Politics, Women and Education, Violence against women to mention a few. These and more are what we expect from the government especially now that elections are over.
