HOST OF YOUR VIEW ON TVC, MORAYO AKABASHORUN, HAS CAUSED A STIR ON SOCIAL MEDIA TODAY FOLLOWING HER OPINION ABOUT HER NOT BEING FAVOURABLE TO HER HUSBAND BATHING THEIR YOUNG DAUGHTER.
The conversation was about the rising cases of Sexual Abuse in the country, in the course of their conversation Morayo said: “I absolutely trust my husband but I wont take chances and have him bathe my daughter, because whether we like it or not, there is something flying in the air these days that is encouraging imbalance and immorality”
From all indication, the rapid increase of sexual assaults on little girls which in some cases is being carried out by their fathers, is becoming a major cause for concern among parents. She said that she actually trusts her husband but she is just being careful because people that have experienced this kind of situation, also trusted their husbands and yet, it happened.
Morayo’s position has definitely sparked a flame of discussion amongst people online and social media users have flocked to various sites to air their opinions.
The subject of sexual abuse is a very touchy one. Its prevalence in our society has also put a lot of parents on edge.
We are of the opinion that this mother has no issues with her husband bathing their young daugther per se rather she is stressing on the need for parents to err on the side of caution when it comes to the issue of sexual abuse. More like seeing it this way; Morayo has no issues with her husband bathing their young son because “he’s a boy”. She firmly believes that, “girls should be getting washed by their mothers and boys get the same from their fathers,” due to the fact that, “mum and daughters have the same parts, same goes for men and their sons.
Another way to look at it is, People play the ‘I was molested card’ so very often these days, and we believe that she just doesn’t want in any way to give her kids the chance to even think about it and this does not in any way mean that she thinks low of her man.
What do you think about this? Until what age should a father be able to bathe his own daughter?
